TOPEKA LEGAL PROFESSIONALS

Topeka Legal Professionals (TLP) was organized in May, 1996, as a local chapter of Kansas Legal Professionals, Inc. (KLPI). The goal of TLP is to provide membership in a professional association for all persons in the legal field in Topeka and Shawnee County. Becoming a member of TLP offers the following benefits:
TLP's objectives and purposes are to enhance continuing education and professional development, stimulate professional standards and ethics among members and encourage improving the quality and effectiveness of legal services.

Membership Information

Membership is open to any person licensed to practice law, or engaged as a legal assistant, law office administrator, legal secretary, stenographer, typist or clerk in any law office, any person employed in the court, the trust department of banks or trust companies, or any public or private institution or office directly engaged in work of a legal nature, including the public offices of the United States government, states, cities, counties, or municipalities.

Because our association is a bi-level association, membership in KLPI is a prerequisite for membership in TLP. TLP annual dues are $25 for active members and are prorated on the same schedule as KLPI annual dues.

Topeka Legal Professionals meets the fourth Tuesday of every month. Check the Event Calendar for specific details. There is generally a short business meeting and an educational speaker at each meeting. Speakers have included: Former Attorney General Carla Stovall, Tracy Diel of the State Gaming Commission, and William Minner of the Civil Rights Commission.

Kansas Legal Professionals has three educational seminars a year hosted by the various chapters.
