SCHOLARSHIPS
and AWARDS Scholarships Two scholarships are awarded each year by KLPI. The amount is determined
annually. Past awards have been for $500.00. The awards are based upon merit,
ability, and financial need, with special emphasis on prospective legal
support staff. Deadline for submission of applications is March 1st. For a scholarship application, please contact information@klpi.org. Legal Professional of the Year Award The Legal Professional of the Year (LPY) Award is given annually to a
legal professional who has been nominated. Nominees submit applications that
are judged by a panel of three persons selected by the chairperson and
approved by KLPI’s Board of Representatives. The finalists for the LPY Award
are then interviewed by three persons who are likewise selected by the
chairperson and approved by the Board of Representatives. The announcement of
the LPY Award is the highlight of the banquet Saturday evening during the
KLPI’s Annual Meeting. BENEFITS Continuing Legal Education KLPI and local chapters sponsor seminars, educational programs, workshops
and professional courses. Continuing legal education (CLE) credits can be
obtained by attending approved sponsored events. A CLE Award is presented
upon application by any member who attains a minimum of 40 qualified hours of
